3 Easy Keyboard Shortcuts you need to know

In the dark ages of the 1990s, I had a work computer with only 1 usb port so I had to choose between using a mouse or a keyboard (crazy but true). I chose the keyboard & fast became a master of keyboard shortcuts. Here's your 1st trio to get you started

Moving Stuff Around

When you need to move or copy a cell (or a bunch of cells), just highlight what you want and then press together:

  • Ctrl + C to copy

  • Ctrl + V to paste

  • Ctrl + X to cut

Format your text

A quick one that's great for when you need to format some text in a flash.

  • Ctrl + B to Bold your selection

  • Ctrl + I to add Italics (or Italicize / Italicise if you're being posh)

Plus an extra one for you

  • Crtl + U to underline your text

BONUS TIP

This doesn't just work in Excel but in lots of applications as well so give it a try

Navigation

If you have an Excel workbook with lots of sheets it can be frustrating to keep having to click on each one to move between them. This Shortcut is much quicker and faster than reaching for the mouse.

  • Ctrl + Page Up moves you up through the worksheet

  • Ctrl + Page Down moves you back to the front of the workbook

That's it

3 quick sets of keyboard shortcuts that show that you don't always need to reach for the mouse to get something done.
